BSN would like to congratulate 2014 BSN Showcase participants Linebacker Alex Bazzie (Marshall) and Defensive End Brian Brikowski (Monmouth) who made Canadian Football League rosters this week. Bazzie an All Conference linebacker in Conference USA made the BC Lions active roster. Brian Brikowski, who recently played for the Cleveland Gladiators, made the practice squad for the Montreal Alouettes. Brian Brikowski was in the middle of training camp when the 2014 BSN Showcase took place. He received permission from the Cleveland coaching staff to attend the BSN Showcase. Brian left Cleveland after practice the night before the Showcase getting in late at night prior to competing. Both him and Bazzie impressed the Canadian Football League scouts that were in attendance. At the 2014 BSN Showcase, 7 of the 9 Canadian Football League teams were present to scout players from small FBS, FCS, D2, D3, and NAIA colleges from a variety of Draft Classes. Bazzie was invited to the Cleveland Browns Rookie Mini Camp before signing with the BC Lions. Only 6 athletes from the FCS and Division II made either a CFL active or practice roster from the Draft Class of 2014(Not including the Canadian born players from Simon Fraser).
